Cabarete
Ahhh, Cabarete; what's not to love? Located on the North Coast of the beautiful Dominican Republic, this amazing Caribbean town truly offers it all. This once 'sleepy fishing village' has become one of the world's most incredible vacation destinations.
Cabarete boasts 300 sun-filled days, with temperatures averaging between 25 – 30 C (80 – 90 F) all year round. The town circles around Cabarete Bay on the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. Tall, swaying palm trees line the beach and there are views of the lush tropical mountains all around.

Your visit to Cabarete can include just laying on the beach and soaking up the sun, or a variety of activities, like swimming, boogie boarding, surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing and many many more. Once the sun starts to set, people wipe the sand from their bodies, and enjoy ocean-view drinks and conversation about their day. In the evening, candle-lit tables line the beach against the swaying palms and star-lit sea. Everything from casual and cheap, to gourmet-prepared fresh seafood is offered by its array of restaurants. And once dinner is done, the party starts. From about 10 pm on, most restaurants turn into bars playing a variety of music, and people from all over the world converge to dance, drink and enjoy. Cabarete has a 'party town' reputation and you'll see for yourself why it's much deserved!

Depending on where you are going in the Cabarete area, they cost approximately 30 – 50 Pesos per ride, per person. Another inexpensive form of transportation are Guaguas. These are small vans/buses that are not on any formal schedule. They stop to pick up people who wave at them at the side of the road. Places like Voy-Voy, Onno's and Lax are open until 3:00 am, and sometimes even later on special occasions! We highly recommend checking out Cabarete Beach House. With BBQ's, campfire parties on the beach, and great food, drinks and music; it's a great place to have a fantastic night out.
